Options for weddings impacted by COVID-19

GUYS! What a weird time, right??!?! So many couples have had to give up their dream day and so many vendors are struggling to survive with no income. It's just craziness right now. Luckily there are a couple of options to keep everyone accommodated and not have to give up your dream day.

The most obvious route you can take is to just postpone your wedding day all together. This is ideal for couples who just have so much else that has been upended in their lives right now and they need to be realistic with their time and resources. However, if this route is one for you make sure to read through all your

contracts and consult with all of your vendors. Try your best to pick a new date that can work for as many of your vendors as possible. This is a scary time for many small business owners and we all appreciate your efforts to keep us included in your postponed date.

An even better alternative to postponing your wedding day completely is to opt for an intimate wedding now and a larger reception with all your guests next year when things are hopefully cleared up. This option is becoming increasingly popular with many couples and is known as a micro wedding.

With a micro wedding, think of a condensed version of your original wedding day plan. This will most likely include less than 20 guests, a shorter day, and be held in a backyard or private property space. This is perfect for couples who just can't wait any longer to marry their love. It equally benefits vendors because they will still be able to be at your wedding day and possibly be able to be hired by you again at your postponed, larger date.

Your micro wedding can also turn into a destination or elopement style wedding. We offer packages that are literally pop-up weddings that can be done in as few as a couple of weeks. This is great for a destination style wedding. It is already super stressful to plan a wedding, let alone a second one, let alone one out of town. However, this is the perfect time (aside from certain travel restrictions) to do a micro wedding in a spot you normally wouldn't do it. The best option to stay safe with the virus is to try to pick a cool destination within driving distance.

You could even turn your day into a destination elopement. The first image on this post is from a destination elopement wedding in Alaska. It was a very intimate and crazy experience. The best part is an elopement allows for tons of fun photo ops and shooting time.

Don't forget that you can always throw that huge reception down the road with any of these options!
